Unlike others, Mountain minnows prefer colder waters and thrive in smaller tanks, making them perfectly suited for beginners who do not have the confidence for a tropical aquarium. Platies are peaceful, beautiful, easy going fish which are regarded for their tolerance to water quality. Males are easily distinguished from females due to the large protrusion on their caudal (Tail) fin.

Clown Killifish are one of the smallest fish in the hobby, but what they lack in size these little fish make up for in personality. These little fish are almost always found at the top of any aquarium and never fail to mesmerise with their striking tail patterns, its safe to say they make one of the best choices for a nano aquarium.
